[FS_QStream_MED] Work Plan for Evaluation of QUIC-based protocols for on-demand and live video services
Proposal
It is proposed to agree on the work plan detailed in section 3.
[FS_QStream_MED] Draft TR 26.934 v0.0.1 - Test platform for media delivery technologies
This document does not contain any proposals.
The document is a template for 3GPP TR 26.934 (Test platform for media delivery technologies) that is still in draft form (V0.0.1). All the technical sections contain only Editor's Notes describing what content should be included in each clause, but no actual technical content or proposals have been written yet.
[FS_QStream_MED] Draft TR 26.835 v0.0.1 - Evaluation of QUIC-based streaming protocols
I have reviewed the provided 3GPP document (3GPP TR 26.835 V0.0.1) and found no proposals.
This document is a template for a Technical Report on "Evaluation of QUIC-based streaming protocols for on-demand and live video services" and contains only structural elements, editor's notes, and guidance text. The document has not yet been populated with actual technical content, including any proposals.
[FS_QStream_MED] [FS_Q4RTC_MED] Design principles for the QUIC test platform
Proposal 1: The test platform consists of three distinct blocks:
Network that is where the underlying network simulation is performed.
Transport Protocol is the transport layer protocol (e.g. QUIC) that is managing the transmissions going over the simulated network.
Application is an implementation of the media technology that is being tested.
[FS_QStream_MED] Proposed template for targeted application and services
Proposal: Clause 4 is proposed to be included as a new subclause in the Work Plan of FS_QStream_MED.
[FS_QStream_MED] Application Scenarios
Proposal: It is proposed to document the application scenarios described in section 2 of this contribution in the new TR for FS_QStream_MED.
[FS_QStream_MED] Media over QUIC
Proposal
It is proposed to include the contents of section 2 in this contribution in the new TR 26.835.
[FS_QStream_MED] Performance and Metrics Evaluation
Proposal
In order to create meaningful data for performance evaluation it is proposed to use existing metrics collection and log the data in an event framework that is compatible with what we have in 5G Media Streaming. This allows to not only evaluate the performance, but to also implement and validate the implemented metrics.
Generally for all such performance evaluation, we should rely on QoE metrics defined in 3GPP specifications and use the reporting frameworks to collect the information.
